DAINTREE & TRINITY BEACH RETURN..

Cape Tribulation Camp Ground (r)   Cape Tribulation Beach (l)

We decided as B was feeling better we would head to Daintree for a couple of days as planned.  A beautiful area where conservations is upper most. We went on a guided bush walk and learnt all about the flora...some of which is very nasty..
One plant will  sting you so badly the only relief is to be chemically "knocked out"...   The pain is excruciating .  Others actually send  out  vines to gab as you go past..dont hurt but  give you a fright...
Going for a drive 30 ks north we arrived at Emegon creek to find a small tour bus bogged.  While we were working out how to pull her out a Cement truck came along BUT TOLD THE BUS TO MOVE OVER HE HAD CEMENT ON BOARD AND COULD NOT WAIT!!!!!!!  Then another 4x4 tour bus pulled it out.  I guess cement waits for no one???

Wanting to see more animals and perhaps CROCS we did a night walk.......Weeeelll  3 hours traipsing through the forest at night for NOTHING!!!!!! We saw a small gecko thingy and 2 birds asleep in the trees.. both the same!!!  By this time I;'m almost wishing for a wild boar to charges us. We have heard so many stories about this  happening but I think its "just one of those stories"????

Coming out of the Daintree we go for a river cruise along the Daintree river and do see a couple of Crocs on the river bank and pythons in trees but no tree snakes.....   Apparently its a bit cold for the wildlife.   Although its misty rain on and off... We ARE NOT COLD......  its hot and humid for us...OOOOOH well each to his own I guess.

Creek in Daintree..one of many.(r)         Python in tree ( L).  hard to see but best we could do!!
When we arrive back in mobile range we find the Dr is chasing B as his last test results were not good.  They even rang the hospital to check if he was admitted. Soooo off we go for more tests.  Dr thinks as he's feeling OK  It's probably the virus working out of his system....                              Fern on another Rainforest walk..
Go Slow sign we loved!!  Daintree Ferry we crossed to go North

Daintree
Rainforest walk

Something that occurred to us was ....   How Eco Friendly are all the River cruises that go up the Daintree River.  We saw at least 20 operators .  In a small area of the Daintree that IS A BIG RATIO????

Im still testing Ice Cream..  Daintree Ice Cream Factory.  Mango , Wattle tree Seed ( Capuccino) and Coconut.

We loved the Daintree ....Wots not to Love....   The People are Eco conscious but also Tourist conscious....

  1. Eco-wise, it's always a fine line between the environmental impact and getting people to value nature. Anyway, we're relieved to find Barry's feeling good. And we love the snail sign. A form of Aussie art that we appreciated all over the country.
